3 Fun Events to Experience While Visiting the Smoky Mountains in the Fall

Autumn not only welcomes fantastic weather and stunning fall foliage to the Smokies, but several exciting seasonal events that are fun for all ages! This is your chance to enjoy the great outdoors with your family and friends while taking advantage of all the awesome activities taking place throughout Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg! Here are 3 fun events to experience while visiting the Smoky Mountains in the fall:

1. Dollywood Harvest Festival

The Dollywood Harvest Festival celebrates the season with tasty fall treats, live musical entertainment, unique craft items and thousands of glowing pumpkins! A highlight of the festival is the Great Pumpkin LumiNights, where you’ll encounter creatively carved pumpkins, larger-than-life pumpkin icons and even a towering Pumpkin Tree! Your admission to the Dollywood Harvest Festival also includes access to the theme park’s regular lineup of breathtaking thrill rides and attractions, so be sure to put this event on your fall itinerary!

2. Bear-Varian Fall Festival at Anakeesta

Another one of the fun events to experience while visiting the Smoky Mountains in the fall is the Bear-Varian Fall Festival at Anakeesta! Once making your way to the top of Anakeesta mountain via the Chondola or Ridge Rambler, you’ll encounter whimsical Halloween decor throughout the park and have the chance to stroll through nature inspired pumpkin carvings! As day changes to night and the sun dips below the mountains in the distance, you’ll be amazed as the whole village becomes awash in colors of orange, purple, and a mystical green!

3. Smoky Mountain Fall Festival at Ober Mountain

The Smoky Mountain Fall Festival at Ober Mountain is a month-long celebration of autumn that features live concerts, children’s activities and more! There is a skate party every night with a DJ each night at Ober’s ice rink and movie nights take place every Friday under the stars on a 22 foot LED digital screen! You also won’t want to miss some of the specialty food items such as Pumpkin Spice Fudge, Schnitzel Sandwiches and Ober Dunkel Brats! While at Ober Mountain, check out some of the cool mountain top attractions like the alpine slide and mountain coaster!
