4 Incredible Mountain Coasters in Pigeon Forge That You Need to Ride

While there’s nothing like the joys of riding a motorcycle through the hills of the Smokies, you can take your Smoky Mountain adventures to the next level with one of the mountain coasters in Pigeon Forge! These unique thrill rides combine the action of a roller coaster and an alpine slide, creating an unforgettable experience that’s fun for all ages! The best part is that you get to control the speed of your sled down the mountain while being securely attached to a steel track! Here are 4 incredible mountain coasters in Pigeon Forge that you need to ride:

1. Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster

The Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster was the first mountain coaster to open in Pigeon Forge when it made its debut in 2013! The entire circuit is over one mile long and takes about 7 to 8 minutes to complete, depending on the speed of your cart! While the downhill run will have you screaming in delight, the scenic and leisurely uphill climb is just as enjoyable! If you think the Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster is thrilling during the daylight hours, be sure to come back at night when the track is lit up with special lighting effects!

2. Rocky Top Mountain Coaster

The Rocky Top Mountain Coaster features 4 separate uphill lift sections and several fun tunnels along the route, as well as jaw dropping 360 degree turns and tons of stunning Smoky Mountain scenery! This amazing ride is also the longest coaster in east Tennessee, so you’ll have some serious bragging rights if you’re up for the adventure! The Rocky Top Mountain Coaster is well known for its magnificent light displays at night, so compare the day and night rides to see which is your favorite!

3. Coaster at Goats on the Roof

Another one of the incredible mountain coasters in Pigeon Forge that you need to ride is the Coaster at Goats on the Roof, which gets its unusual name from the famous gift shop right next door! This ride features a track that is nearly a mile in length and you can reach speeds up to 30 miles per hour while winding your way down the mountain! While this might not sound like a high speed compared to your motorcycle riders through the Smokies, just wait until you feel the sensation of racing down the track at only mere inches above the ground!

4. Lost Mine Mountain Coaster

The newest kid on the block is the Lost Mine Mountain Coaster, which opened in late 2023 to rave reviews! This mountain coaster features an immersive themed environment where you’ll glide over downtown Pigeon Forge, race through tunnels, and have a chance to spot the mischief of the Lost Mine bears! Some of the themed environments that you’ll encounter during your ride include the Honeycomb Hut, Hibernation Hole, Bear-y Cemetery, Bear Foot Ridge and Goldilock’s Glen!

After experiencing these incredible mountain coasters in Pigeon Forge, come on over to our Pigeon Forge biker bar to wind down with a tempting menu of brews and chews! We look forward to seeing you soon!
