4 Best Ways to Explore the Smoky Mountains

The Smoky Mountains is a dream vacation destination for bikers. There are a ton of fun ways to get out and enjoy the fresh mountain air and sunshine. Whether you want to hop on the Harley for a scenic drive or plan a hiking trip with your buddies, you are sure to enjoy the majestic scenery of nature. Here are 4 of the best ways to explore the Smoky Mountains:

1. Enjoy a Scenic Drive

The Smokies are full of amazing drives that are ideal for motorcycle riders. For a more tranquil trek, take the ride through the 11-mile loop road in Cades Cove. Along the way, you will come across plenty of historical sites and wildlife. There are also numerous pull offs along the side of the road where you can park your vehicle and soak in the amazing mountain scenery. For those looking for a more thrilling ride, be sure to take a drive on the Tail of the Dragon! This is the dream ride for bikers, as it features 318 curves in 11 miles. The best part about the drive is that there are no intersecting roads or driveways to hamper your travel, so you can just enjoy the views and the open road.

2. Take a Refreshing Hike

If you need to stretch your legs and get off your motorcycle for a while, you and your friends can saddle up for a hike in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Throughout the park, you will find over 800 miles of trails, allowing you to find the perfect trek for everyone in your group. The hike to Abrams Falls is a great beginner’s hike because it only covers 5 miles roundtrip with little elevation gain. If you are looking for a more challenging trek, hike the stone steps to the top of the Alum Cave Bluffs. After viewing the bluffs, you can continue on to see the stunning view from Mount LeConte!

3. Hang out at the Hogg Shed

Our Pigeon Forge bar is home to one of the best outdoor dining scenes, the Hogg Shed. While you hang out with a bunch of gearheads like yourself, you can enjoy one of our brews on tap or chow down on some of our delicious entrees. We also feature live music during the warmer months of the year so you and your buddies will be entertained. Because the bar is outside, you can still soak in the gorgeous backdrop of the mountains while you eat, drink, and have fun!

4. Travel Down the Parkway

Our restaurant in Pigeon Forge is located right off the main Parkway, where you will find dozens of amazing attractions and shops. On a nice day, riding your motorcycle along the main strip can be an exciting adventure. Along the way, you can stop by some of the marvelous shops to pick up some new motorcycle gear or souvenirs for your friends and family back home. Our bar is also located right next door to an amazing Harley Davidson shop where you can stock up on all the essentials you need!
