3 Fun Wears Valley Attractions to Visit on Your Next Ride

If you’re planning your first motorcycle trip to the Pigeon Forge area, keep in mind that Wears Valley Road is a great place to take a ride! The best part is that our Pigeon Forge bar is right at the intersection of the Parkway and Wears Valley Road! This pleasant road takes you on a scenic journey away from the Parkway traffic so that you can discover the “peaceful side of the Smokies.” However, you’ll also discover a few great places where you’ll want to stop along the way! Here are 3 fun Wears Valley attractions to visit on your next ride:

1. Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster

You won’t make it far down Wears Valley Road before you come across the Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster on the left hand side! We know that you enjoy the open air feeling of riding your motorcycle through the Smokies, so just wait until you zip down the mountain on this unique thrill ride! Unlike a traditional roller coaster, you control the speed of your ride using a simple brake lever on a sled that can hold up to two riders. Each sled is securely attached to steel rails, so use the brake for a leisurely ride down the mountain or go full throttle for an action packed adventure!

2. Goats on the Roof

You can’t come to Pigeon Forge without purchasing a t-shirt and other souvenirs, and you’ll find one of the area’s best gift shops along Wears Valley Road – Goats on the Roof! This funky store gets its unique name from the goats that really do live on the roof, and you can even feed the hungry rooftop residents by purchasing some goat chow and pedaling a special “goat cycle” to transport your food to the roof! While browsing through the 2 level gift shop, you’ll find dozens of t-shirts, children’s toys, old fashioned candies, hot sauces, distinctive hillbilly-themed novelty items and other Smoky Mountain gifts!

3. Great Smoky Mountains National Park

Another one of the Wears Valley attractions that you’ll want to visit on your next ride is Great Smoky Mountains National Park! The Wears Valley entrance is probably the least used entrance into the park and allows you to avoid the crowds that enter into the park from Gatlinburg. As a bonus, this entrance offers easy access to popular destinations such as Cades Cove and Newfound Gap! This entrance also takes you to the Metcalf Bottoms Picnic area that’s located between the Elkmont and Tremont districts in the Smokies. From Pigeon Forge, just drive 9.2 miles on Wears Valley Road and take a left onto Line Springs Road where you’ll see a sign directing you to the park!

About Our Pigeon Forge Bar

You’re sure to work up an appetite after traveling along Wears Valley Road, so stop by our Pigeon Forge bar on your way back into town to enjoy some delicious grub! We also offer a full bar menu with all of your favorite brews, so wash it all down with a beer to end your day! While hanging out at our biker bar, you’ll likely meet fellow motorcycle riders from all over the country who can share some information about other recommended rides throughout the Smokies!

After visiting these fun Wears Valley attractions, come on over to our Pigeon Forge bar to discover our tempting menu of brews and chews! We look forward to seeing you soon!
