Top 4 Ways to Cool Off During Summer in the Smoky Mountains

One of the great things about a summer vacation to the Smoky Mountains is the long days of sunshine for outdoor activities! While the temperatures from June through August may be relatively hot, there can be fluctuations just like at any other time of year. The good news is that if you happen to visit the Smokies during a heat wave, you’ll find several great ways to cool down! Here are the top 4 ways to cool off during summer in the Smoky Mountains:

1. Visit Dollywood’s Splash Country

Dollywood’s Splash Country is a massive waterpark with towering slides, sparkling pools, and family-friendly splash zones, all tucked into the beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains! Thrillseekers will want to head straight to slides like Fire Tower Falls, Mountain Scream, and the Slick Rock Racer, while younger kids can enjoy splashing around in the Bear Mountain Fire Tower, Little Creek Falls, and the Cascades! Everyone will love Mountain Waves, a 25,000-square-foot wave pool where you can catch a wave or soak up some rays poolside!

2. Go Snow Tubing Indoors at Pigeon Forge Snow

Another one of the top ways to cool off during summer in the Smoky Mountains is with indoor snow tubing at Pigeon Forge Snow! As America’s first indoor snow park, this incredible facility features snow tubing slopes that are open all year round! The temperature is always a comfortable 60 to 70 degrees inside, so there is no need to bring a parka along for your visit. In addition to the snow tubing slopes, there is a Snow Play area for kids and a second level with an observation area where you can watch all the tubing action!

3. Enjoy a Scenic Motorcycle Ride in the Smokies

Feel the cool breeze while taking a scenic motorcycle ride in the Smokies this summer! The Smoky Mountains are home to several iconic drives, including the Foothills Parkway, Newfound Gap Road, and the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail! The ultimate destination in the region for motorcyclists is the Tail of the Dragon, which features a total of 318 curves in an 11-mile stretch! This is not a ride for scenery, as you’ll be too busy focusing on navigating all the turns through this rollercoaster ride of a road!

4. Have a Refreshing Brew at Our Pigeon Forge Bar

When you’re ready to unwind after an action-packed day in the Smokies, come on over to our Pigeon Forge bar to hang out with your fellow bikers! This is a fun opportunity to socialize with other friendly motorcycle enthusiasts from across the country and have a refreshing brew! Our bar menu features an awesome selection of ice-cold boar brews and lots of great food to satisfy your appetite. Be sure to try the Iron Boar Lager, a local favorite brewed specifically with motorcycle riders in mind!
